I have exactly 8 days to be out of here. I had 30 days—month-to-month lease and all. But the time passed faster than I thought it would. That’s what eviction is like. I’ve been here 11 years. Eleven long years. I kept thinking each year would be the year I bought the van and did the van build and got out of here and traveled and wrote. But it wasn’t. That’s how dreams go really. We plan and dream and never get off of our ass and act. And life goes on.
