Homeless is WHERE You Are, NOT WHO You Are

One of the most aggravating and shameful things you’ll experience is people seeing you NOT for who you are, but where you are now in life. If you don’t have a fixed apartment, home, or place to live, somehow you’ve immediately become untrustworthy, unreliable, or suspect. They define you based on WHERE you are, not WHO you are. Example:

I lived in a pretty old, crappy van. In the photo above it’s painted white, but before it was white it was four shades of green. I called it “Booger” because, well, that’s what it looked like. The term “homeless” conjures up…
